Pitch Exploration "Slide Whistle": Have your child play an invisible slide whistle and you echo them. Switch jobs. Here's some ideas for inspiration- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKMtgUPTylM
Conversational Solfege Step 6 "Read Patterns by Echoing"- Please use the 8 "red" patterns below. Have parent read one pattern at a time, challenging the child to echo them at the same speed. Switch jobs. Change the order to mix it up (go backwards, odds, evens, etc). Feel free to add a back beat to make it fun and help maintain a steady beat! Below is music I use in class.
Conversational Solfege Step 7 "Read Familiar Patterns"- Using the familiar "red" patterns in step 6, challenge your child to read them on their own. Mix it up- take turns reading patterns (I'll read odds, you read evens, etc). Feel free to add a back beat to make it fun! Below is music I use in class.
Movement Exploration "Read My Mind"- This is a body part isolation activity. Put on some of your favorite music. Think of a body part that your child has to move to the music. They have to guess what part you are thinking of by moving it to the music.
