Pitch Exploration "Rollercoaster": Draw a picture of a rollercoaster. Trace the path with your finger. On a neutral syllable (such as "oo" or "ahhh"), make your voices get higher when the track goes up, and lower when the track goes down. Conversational Solfege Step 6 "Read Patterns by Echoing"- Please use the 8 "red" patterns below. Have parent read one pattern at a time, challenging the child to echo them at the same speed. Switch jobs. Change the order to mix it up (go backwards, odds, evens, etc). Feel free to add a back beat to make it fun and help maintain a steady beat! Below is music I use in class.
Conversational Solfege Step 7 "Read Familiar Patterns"- Using the familiar "red" patterns in step 6, challenge your child to read them on their own. Mix it up- take turns reading patterns (I'll read odds, you read evens, etc). Feel free to add a back beat to make it fun! Below is music I use in class.
Movement Exploration "Glue Dancing"- This is a body part isolation activity. Put on some of your favorite music. Choose body parts that have to be glued still while the other parts move to the music. Can you guess what each other glued?
